"A Heritage of Faith: Honoring the Legacy of Our Lady"
Located in Saint Marys, KS, The Immaculata is the largest SSPX-built church in the world. A monumental shrine in honor of Our Lady and for the glory of God, the church was intended to both replace the original church and to accommodate the over 4,000 faithful that attend mass every Sunday. Built with state-of-the-art methods and materials; according to Civium architect David Heit, The Immaculata was built in the Romanesque revival style "e; referencing churches in Europe from the ninth to fourteenth.
In 2021 I was contracted to document The Immaculata's construction progress. From the earliest days of the framing being installed in November of 2021 through the consecration on May 3, 2023, I developed a photographic record of this historic project, producing weekly images of all phases of the build.
